THE PROPOSALS
Bloor Homes is bringing forward exciting plans for a new community facility, community parkland and up to 200 new homes on the land at Shrivenham Golf Club.
Located within walking distance of Shrivenham and Watchfield, the site is in a sustainable and suitable location to provide much-needed new community facilities and homes.
Around 75% of the site would be delivered as green, public open space - preserving the gap between Shrivenham and Watchfield and for new and existing residents to enjoy.
Sustainability is a key feature of the proposals and sustainable transport modes will be provided and encouraged, alongside new pedestrian and cycle connections through the site. The existing public right of way would be retained through the site.

BENEFITS
The proposals would provide a wide range of local benefits, including:
Delivering new market and affordable housing, meeting the local needs on a sustainable, and logical site
Providing land for the creation a new community hub which can be designed to meet identified local needs
Establishing new open and accessible community parkland that strengthens existing natural visual barriers and preserves the natural transition into the countryside, alongside new community orchard and allotments
Delivering a biodiversity net gain through new tree planting and ecological enhancements and the enhancement and introduction of a diverse range of habitats
The protection of the Public Right of Way (PRoW) running through the site and the creation of new pedestrian and cycle connections
COMMUNITY SPACE
We are committed to providing the land required to create a new community facility within a ‘hub’ building. We welcome ideas on what facilities are most needed in the local area which could continue to shape the proposals through the planning process. One potential use could include a doctor’s surgery to support both new and existing residents.
NEW HOMES
Bloor will deliver up to 200 new market and affordable homes on this sustainable site to meet local housing needs. The proposals address the Shrivenham Neighbourhood Plan’s key strategic priorities, including delivery of homes for those downsizing, alongside first-time buyers and the inclusion of affordable housing.
Bloor are committed to providing energy efficient homes and will be providing air source heat pumps and solar roof panels, together with energy efficient fabric construction.
NATURE-LED
New mature tree planting and ecological enhancements supporting a diverse range of animal habitats would delivery a net-gain for biodiversity. Additionally, the creation of new community green spaces on a significant portion of the site and addition of community orchards and allotments would provide benefits for people and nature.
ACCESS AND HIGHWAYS, AND SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORT
The primary access for the site will come from Faringdon Road. Parking places will comply with Vale of White Horse District Council (VoWH) policy and meet the needs of new residents.
Sustainable transport modes will be provided and encouraged. The Public Right of Way (PRoW) running through the site will be protected and new pedestrian and cycle connections towards Star Lane and Northford Hill will be created.
A Transport Assessment will be submitted alongside the application which will assess potential transport impacts and any required mitigations.
